This summer, we're all about making space in your work life for those things YOU consider a priority. So we've asked our University of Graz researcher community about aspects of their daily work life that they have developed a useful routine for - and aspects that still need a “research life hack”.
Interview partner:
Juliane Jarke's daily work:
“I am professor for Digital Societies at the University of Graz. My research is interested in sociodigital phenomena – how the digital and the social co-constitute each other in different social arenas. I have recently founded the Graz Sociodigital and Participatory Futures Studio (GraSP Futures Studio) in which we work with different groups of people to imagine desirable digital futures.”
The "happy hack" that makes Juliane more efficient/creative/motivated at work:
"I work with people who challenge me in constructive ways, who surprise and inspire me. People who share my passion about how questions of social justice intersect with our digital futures. Also, feminist science fiction is a great source of inspiration in that it shows me how our sociodigital worlds could be otherwise."
And the challenge in her research life that she still needs a hack for:
"Learning to say ‘no’. "
What is your own happy hack? Let us know!
