With the micro-grants, the RCC aims to support researchers of all career stages to stay connected and visible, and to enhance their research activities. On Oct 20, 2026, the selection committee met for the fifth time since establishment of the Research Careers Campus to select grantees for our various micro funding schemes (individual and group funding).
The applications we receive three times a year show us how active the researchers of Uni Graz are in putting their research out there, and networking on the international stage.
This time, we had to adjust the monetary amount granted due to the current university-wide budget restrictions. Nevertheless, we were able grant funding for 42 activities (both by groups and individuals), in fields such as
- Law, Art History, Philosophy, Slavic Studies, German Studies, English and American Studies, History, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Molecular Biosciences, Mathematics and Scientific Computing , Physics, Human Movement Sciences, Sport and Health, Education Research and Teacher Education, Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care, Sociology, Economics, Computational Social Systems Research, Southeast European Studies
Grantees will use the funds to organize academic events locally, and present their research to colleagues and conduct research activities abroad such as in
- Innsbruck, Leibnitz, Mondsee, Manchester, Brussels, Geneva, Vancouver, Salt Lake City
- Yucatan, Chicago, Tokyo, Stockholm, Paris, London, Athen, Pafos, Warsaw
- Bela Krajina, Trento, Bergamo, Milano, Triest, St. Moritz, Tutzing, Jena, Landau
- Hamburg, Budapest, Lisbon, Brno, Amsterdam
We wish all the grantees much success with their projects!
About the scheme:
- Eligible for funding are 1) employees in research contracts and 2) researchers enrolled in a doctoral degree at the University of Graz.
- Applications for RCC Grants can be made on an ongoing basis, the next committee meeting selecting grantees will be end of October (after the Oct 15 deadline).
- With budget cuts in the University of Graz central administration budgets, the RCC funding schemes might be impacted, so be aware that reduced sums or a slightly reduced success rate are likely.
