The Research Careers Campus team has grown!

Portraits Astrid Klotz und Katharina Pertschy, (c) Pertschy

Meet our new office manager and our new project lead for mid-career-researcher offers!

The Research Careers Campus team has two (relatively) new colleagues! In the last months, we’ve gained an office manager and a project lead for our mid-career-researcher offers.

ASTRID KLOTZ has joined our team in October 2025. She came to the University of Graz in early 2024 and brings to the RCC her experience of supporting the management of the faculty of social sciences. She had a long career before that, which was in interior design and retail management, and prior to that in the hospitality industry.

Astrid really shines through her communicative skills in multiple languages, and her hands-on project management skills. You might have noticed that very quickly after her arrival in Leechgasse 42, the windows of our offices were branded in a distinctive RCC design, giving us both more privacy and more visibility. Astrid is the go-to person for participants of our transferable skills workshops, handles transfers of the micro-grants we give to researchers – and she makes operations of the RCC go smoothly!

KATHARINA PERTSCHY started her role with RCC in mid-January, and will take the lead on our mid-career researcher development project. That project aims at developing tailor-made professional development offers, supporting researchers in successfully navigating the tenure-track.

Katharina is an experienced facilitator and initially impressed us because of her expertise in developing trainings for heterogenous audiences, from those in leadership positions, to professionals in the social sector, to parents, young people and organizations. She also recently earned her diploma from Sigmund Freud University in Supervision, Coaching, and Organizational Development. Katharina’s career spans a wide range of impactful roles, including work in women’s counselling centers, implementing gender mainstreaming initiatives, managing various projects for NGOs, and she continues to teach MA students at FH JOANNEUM at the Institute for Social Work.

We’re excited for the fresh perspectives and creative methods Katharina will bring to the Research Careers Campus, to the community of researchers in ongoing development and qualification agreements, and of course also to our work with postdocs, PIs, and doctoral researchers.

You can reach both new colleagues via our rcc(at)uni-graz.at email, and also reach out to them directly.
